The Grace Card Movie Review and Give Away

I had the opportunity to review a very poignant movie, The Grace Card, this week.  I don't want to give too much away because you need to see it for yourself.  It is an important movie with an even more important message.

Here is a little bit about it:
Everything can change in an instant … and take a lifetime to unravel. When Mac McDonald loses his son in an accident, the ensuing 17 years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God … and just about everyone else.

Mac’s rage stonewalls his career in the police department and makes for a combustible situation when he’s partnered with Sam Wright, a rising star on the force—who happens to be a part-time pastor and a loving family man.

Can they somehow join forces to help one another when it’s impossible for either of them to look past their differences—especially the most obvious one?

Every day, we have the opportunity to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God’s grace. Offer THE GRACE CARD … and never underestimate the power of God’s love.

There is a lot of buzz going on right now about this movie and I would have to agree with what is being said.  I wasn't sure when the movie first started-it was a little jarring and sad-but I'm glad I stuck with it.  This movie has an important message that isn't conveyed nearly often enough.  Grace.  Real Grace even when it's hard.  This movie shows us what that Grace looks like when it is being walked out and given at the expense at the person giving it.  This movie is gritty and hard to watch sometimes but I highly recommend watching it thru to the end.  You won't be disappointed.

This movie is available on DVD right now.

***I do have a copy to give away to one lucky person!  All you have to do is answer this question and you are entered.

"Tell me about a time when Grace was extended to you."

I will pick a winner on August 27th.  Please leave a way to contact you or I will have to draw another winner.

Renita- Thanks for the wonderful giveaway! Grace was extended to me many years ago by a wonderful next door neighbor. He was a kind doctor and despite the fact that I did not get along well with his wife, he was always kind to me. I thought that he was not aware of the situation but I was young and ignorant. When we were moving he told me (in a quiet way) that he hoped I would be happier in a new city. I was so humbled! I look forward to reading others comments.:) Lori toosillysisters@cox.net

Every single day, grace is extended to me (more times than I want to count!) when I sin, whether it is that bad attitude I just can't quite get rid of or many other sins. Jesus is gracious to forgive each and every one of them and that is a wonderful gift.

On a more human note, I will never forget accidentally leaving my dad's precious convertible (which he rarely let me drive) in neutral with the parking brake OFF and coming out from work to see that the car had rolled down the parking lot into another car!! I truly expected (and deserved) to get an earful about that but he extended grace to me. He never punished me in any way for it. I was shocked and humbled.

I am so thankful that grace is given me every day by God, when I fail yet again!
