Guess what?  I WON the Blabber Blog Award in the Homeschool Misfit Awards!!

Doesn't that category fit me so well?  lol  Yeah, I put it all out there.  I'm just keepin' it real people.  ;-)

I am so excited about this.  Thank you to all who voted for me-you know me so well.  heehee  I love being a Misfit and wouldn't have it any other way.

I've Been Nominated!!!

I had the shock of my life this afternoon.  I was browsing Facebook when I noticed that several of my friends were posting how they had been nominated for categories over at The Homeschool Blog Awards.  I have had friends that were nominated for a few years now so it was no surprise to me.  I decided to head on over to The Homeschool Post to check out the category and what did I find?

Homedaze had been nominated for The Best Nitty-Gritty Homeschool Blog!!  


At first I thought that it was someone else with the same blog name as mine so I followed the link and it led to my blog!  OH MY GOSH!  I couldn't even believe it.  I don't know who nominated me but thank you so much.  It really is very special to just be nominated.  Really and truly.

Nominations have been made for the Misfits Awards and I am pleased to say that I have been nominated for a few.  Yay me!  I am a card carrying Misfit and I'm glad someone recognizes that. lol

So, now you have a job to do...go vote for your favorite Misfit.  I would love to have your votes, of course, but vote for whomever you want.  No one will ever know if you didn't vote for me, it will just be your conscience you have to deal with when I corner you in a dark alley and ask whether you voted for me or not!

Homeschool Misfit Awards

It's that time of year when the Homeschool Blogger awards are making their way around the blogosphere.  You know the ones that make all of us regular, not above the norm bloggers feel bad about themselves.  The awards that we could never even hope to be nominated for...Yeah those.

I don't usually even vote for those unless I "know" the blogger well enough to care.  Otherwise it is just a huge popularity contest and I don't do those.

Okay, I don't do all of them.  There is one blogger award that I can relate to and hope to aspire to.  It is the Homeschool Misfit Awards.

Yup, you read that right.  These awards are for the rest of us normal, non-super bloggers.

Coming Back to Life

Well, today I got a steroid shot to counter the reaction to the antibiotics.  I might be feeling some relief, but I'm not sure.  I still feel pretty bad. 

I have pictures and posts running around in my head but no energy to post them.  So watch out when I feel better! lol

For now, I have to tell you that I won a Misfit Blogger Award!!

Awards...for me!!

I awoke to a wonderful surprise while checking my email this morning.  I won a blog award!!  I am super excited.  Beverly at The Cow Queen gave it to me, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Now, this isn't my first blog award.  My dear friend, Laura, gave me one a few years ago and I couldn't figure out how to get the picture on my blog.  (sorry, Laura!)  I am smidge better at this whole blog thing now, so I will give it a go!

Aren't they pretty?  ;-)  I love 'em and they have inspired me to try and get Laura's award on here...I'll have to work on that one!

Now, for my list of things about me.  I know, I know it's boring and you can skip this part if you want to!



1. I am allergic to melons.  All melons.  They make me puke like there is no tomorrow.  I can't even smell them without my stomach gurgling.


2.  I love, love, love books.  I have an addiction of sorts.  I frequent library book sales and grab handfuls of random books just because they look pretty or interesting.  I have books in boxes that have never seen the light of day of been under my dh's raptor gaze!


3.  I adore having girls and get angry when people think that you have to have boys to be happy.  I get nasty when people make comments about my poor dh not having any boys.  What's with that?  Or when people are expecting and they say that they better have a boy or that they want a 'token boy'.  What happened to trusting God to give you what you need and being happy with that?  seriously.  I love having girls and I don't feel deprived in any way-at all.  Can you tell that this is a hot topic for me?  ;-}


4.  I have performed in professional music theater.  It was a world ago, but it's true.  I loved it and could have very well have lived the life of a gypsy had a handsome guy not stolen my heart.


5.  I am insecure.  Really.  I worry about people liking me and get scared when people don't talk to me in a while.  I feel like they don't like me anymore.  I don't feel like I measure up and don't think I ever will.  I don't fit into many groups and will NEVER be the quiet "church lady".  That's sooo not me!!!


6.  I love writing and am writing a book.  It's mainly just for me and my thither(sister) but I really enjoy doing it.  I have so many thoughts roaming around in my head about just about every conceivable topic that it's hard to get them all out sometimes. heehee


7.  I am a messy.  I can live in mess and it doesn't bother me.  Piles of things can be walked over or moved to another spot!  I married a neat freak.  After 18 years of marriage, we are still learning to compromise on this point. lol
