This was the first year that we have bought Easter dresses for the girls. I really wanted to do it this year; however, it was hard to release the style of dresses to each individual child!
I did. I think the dresses they chose, suited their personalities very well!
My second born chose my dress this time. I was not sure of it, but I wore it anyway! It turns out that I absolutely love it!! (she knows more and cares more about fashion than I do!)

My Birthday Gift (one of them)
My wonderful, caring, sweet, thoughtful, loving, sister got me a birthday present! It is something that I asked for and she really got it for me!
It is this:We LOVE this movie!! We saw it at the theater twice and since she gave it to me on Wednesday, I think we have watched it at least 10 times!!!
It is a wonderful story and the music is so catchy.
I think we may watch it again tonight!
This is Dd 2's impression of Prince Edward from the movie! Now, when we walk into a room, we do this to each other! I guess if you haven't seen the movie, you have no idea what I am talking about! Oh well, it is funny anyway. :)

Presidential Fitness Testing
Through our homeschool group we are doing the Presidential Fitness testing. It has been going well, I guess!
None of the girls are going to get anything more than Participation. And I am okay with that! They have all done their best and that is enough.
We (read dh) had to run the timed mile, half-mile, and quarter mile. It went really well. I got to sit on the driveway with my notes and cheer them on!!!
Dd 1 actually made National on her run. WOOHOO! When she was done, she collapsed on the curb. ;)
Dd 2 is pretending to be in pain. (Actually, for the next two days, she really was sore!)
This was dd3's first time to do the testing. She really did a great job. She ran the whole way and did not stop to rest!
No, dd4 didn't really do the testing; she just wanted to feel part of it! She was so excited to be able to be a 'big kid'!
This is just our neighbor's tree that I think is pretty. While I was sitting in the driveway cheering, I was able to ponder the beauty around me. (HEEHEE)

Pick Me, Pick Me!!
I found this give away and I REALLY want to win!!!
This will also include a headset with microphone, and students will participate in lifelike conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program. Rosetta Stone still incorporates listening, reading and writing as well, in addition to speaking. Many homeschoolers requested grammar and vocabulary exercises, and with Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3, they're included! For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program and allow parents to easily enroll students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, and view and print reports.
To win this most excellent program -- in the language of your choice -- copy these (blue) paragraphs and post it in (or as) your next blog post -- then to enter the contest, go to the original contest page HERE: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/JenIG/501132/ and leave a comment with the link showing where you blogged about it. And please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post it. And good luck! The winner will be picked randomly on March 26, and will be notified thru the link they left to their blog pg. And if you have more than one blog, you can post them and enter those separately for more chances to win. Yay for free stuff!
Rosetta Stone has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while -- next week they are unleashing a brand new curriculum, and you can WIN the *all new* Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3… FOR FREE!

Lift and Drag
Today we finished up our first lesson in Apologia's Flying Creatures of the Fifth Day
We had such a good time with this and we even learned some things!
We learned about why birds can fly do to the shape of their wings. The 'airfoil'.
So, to put into practice what we learned, we made some gliders to see how they could fly.
Both gliders were the same except one 'variable'. (that is another term we learned)
One glider had long, skinny wings and the other had short, wide wings.
We made then and then took them outside to test their flying abilities.
We had to fill out a Scientific Speculation Sheet that included a 'hypothesis'. (another new word)
Everyone got two shots with each glider and then they had to find the total distance of both flights.
We really did have a lot of fun with this and the conversation at dinner proved that we learned all about Lift and Drag!

Spring Has Sprung!
Spring is here!!! At least for the last few days! We have been outside enjoying the weather and it has been wonderful.
I was trying to get a picture of the buds on the tree and the moon just happened to 'be in the way'!
These are something growing in one of our landscaping beds. We don't know what they are yet and we can't wait to find out!
Just some monkeying around.
The world's first and last soccer/basketball player. She was playing a mix of the two. It was quite fun to watch.

Just another day in Paradise
It all started last night when the girls were playing Hide and Seek with a friend of theirs. Dd2 decided to hide in the walk in closet just off the kitchen. Dh and I were eating at the kitchen table when we heard a crash.
Now, being the loving and concerned parents that we are, we kept eating! Dd1 went to see what the problem was and immediately came to get us. She said that dd2 was laying on the floor, crying.
We rushed (okay walked leisurely!) to see what the problem was.
She actually was laying on the floor sobbing.
After much hugging and talking sweetly (okay, patting on the head and demanding to know what had happened) we got the story.
Evidently, she was trying to hide under the shelves and on her way back out, she pulled on the cord to the Waffle Iron and it fell on her arm. :( No wonder she was crying!
We deliberated for quite some time about taking her to the Dr. and decided to wait and see what it looked like in the morning.
It looked fine. There was no bruise to be seen.
She was still in a great deal of pain however, so we went.
It is not broken. (yeah! She has already had two broken bones!)
She just has a large hematoma under the skin. (yes, I know that I did not spell that right!) The Dr. said that it should create a very large bruise in a few days. We will just see!!
Anyway, here is the offending appliance!
Innocent looking isn't it?
Here is dd2. This picture was taken just after the ibuprofen kicked in!!
That is our homemade sling! My sister picked up scarves for our dd's in Iraq.
This is how we ended our night!!!
Skip-Bo. WOOHOOO!!
Dd 4 was fighting sleep and she would fall asleep between her turns.
Snuggled up and ready for bed.
She was starting to give up on the game!
I won, by the way!!!

Maggie decided that she needed a little 'Daddy time'!!!
She just crawled up in his chair and laid on him! It was pretty funny to see.

Oh What a Beautiful Morning
I am not really a morning person, so when the time change comes it makes me cranky! I honestly hate losing that hour of sleep!
However, it does allow me to see the sunrise more often!
The morning sky was just on fire. It was so beautiful.
