Not exactly...
So the week without the kids didn't go exactly as I had planned. We ended up having a funeral on Wednesday that required driving out to get our oldest and then taking her back. We also had to pull a chunk of wood out of our 10yos foot. Not fun.
Wednesday was pretty much a bust. Not much was done and I didn't like it. I didn't even go to Bible Study. I just couldn't do one more thing, ya know? Something had to give or I was going to lose it. I may still lose it because I am so behind on things. I need time to myself with no distractions to really focus and get stuff done. Not sure if that will happen though. When you have five kids there isn't much down time.
Thursday was pretty good with getting most of the painting done in the hallway. I also got to go on a date with my man thanks to the babysitting prowess of our good friend. We say Batman: The Dark Knight Rises. It was great. I cried twice! Yes, I did.
Friday I finished up the front hall, found some things for our upcoming school year, had a panic attack, did the dishes, and took a nap. Albeit a small one though. It was fantastic!!
Friday night we went get the girls and had pizza with the family. It was noisy and chaotic and wonderful! We made it home to see part of the Opening Ceremonies of the Olympics. We recorded it, of course, and stayed up late to finish it.
However, we all thought the ceremonies were fairly boring. There were some highlights and really liked some of it but on the whole we didn't like it. I was further disappointed to find out that we wouldn't be able to watch very much of the Olympics due to not having a high enough cable package. I was almost in tears Saturday. I love the Olympics and all life is suspended while they are on. I am serious when I say that we are glued to the t.v. during the Olympics.
I am a little obsessed, I admit it. But once every two years isn't so bad. Is it? Please tell me I'm not the only one that is crazy about the Olympics. Anyone?
Okay, onto another topic. Saturday night some close friends came over for dinner and homeschool talk. This coming year we are going to be having three extra kids two days a week to help them out with homeschooling. We decided all the curriculum for the year thanks to some of othe reviews I have been able to do over the years! Our plan is set and now all I have to do is print out our Tapestry books, IEW material, and find books at the library. Oh yeah, I am also choreographing another theater camp that starts next week.
Good times!
Sunday found us at church worshipping a wonderful God. We had a great afternoon celebrating our new 13yo and watching the Olympics! Naps and good food followed, of course. Then a night of babysitting for our oldest. Yup, it was a pretty good weekend. ;-)

Cousins Camp
So just a few days after we get back from Royal Family Kids Camp the girls are heading off to Cousins Camp. They head out Tuesday evening and get back Friday night. It is a great week of Bible Study, fun, and bonding time for the girl cousins.
Meanwhile back at the "farm" Bug and I are planning on painting. Yup, you read that right. I am painting with a 2yo! I am going to finish the front hall that I started last year while they were at Cousins Camp!!
There will also be naps and planning for school if I can get to it. ;-)

Just a bit
Last year before camp I scheduled some posts to go live while we were at camp and this year life was just to hectic. :(
But, camp was pretty great this year. I had two experienced co-counselors instead of the new ones I usually get(which is totally fine) so we were able to just get going and we all knew what to do and just did it.
We got there Sunday afternoon, ate, then got to work. We decorate the rooms, make name signs for the kids, and label all the stuff we are going to give them. We like to give them a bunch of stuff! lol
Monday morning we wake up and finish whatever we haven't the night before then get ready for the kids. When the kids show up it is always a little nerve wracking. We pray for them and pray for the week but the truth is we are never really ready.
Don't believe someone if they say you can't fall in love with a stranger the moment you see them. Because you can. And we do. These kids are so incredibly special to God. They are the least of these and we should do whatever we can to show them the love of God.
They are my kids. I am fiercely protective of them and beg God to show them how loved and precious they are.
If you haven't checked out Royal Family Kids Camp you should. Trust me, you will never be the same.
For now my heart is still healing. I'm sure that it will take a while but will never fully heal. That's the way it is sometimes with the things that are important to God.

Heartbreak yet again
We are newly back from another week at Royal Family Kids Camp. Our hearts are broken. Our bodies are tired. There are so many stories but I'm just not ready to tell them yet.
Maybe tomorrow.

The not so easy summer
This summer has been one of the hardest I can remember for a very long time. Normally we try and keep it low key, relax, and just hang out. But this summer is our busiest on record.
I don't like it.
We had homeschool conference, vacation(while not bad it added to the busyness), the first theater camp, VBS, Junior High church camp(which I wasn't supposed to do but they needed another female counselor), my step-dad falling and breaking both bones in both legs very badly, another theater camp, RFKC, cousins camp, another theater camp, getting ready for school(I have a high schooler this year), and the other life stuff that comes up. Oh, and I'm trying to come up with another Terrell Family Movie Night Revolution!! ugh I'm tired just reading it!
While none of these things are bad-save the broken legs part and if you think of it please pray for him-it all adds up to one crazy busy summer. I can't seem to get rested up before the next thing starts.
So, for now I am choreographing a show and getting ready for RFKC while going to the hospital to visit my step-dad.
Maybe when school starts I can get some rest! heehee
