Hillsong United Empires Review

I was extremely excited to get this CD in the mail. We have long loved Hillsong and their contribution to the music industry and the Praise and Worship genre. Many of their songs have become favorites in our household. When this CD came, I instantly opened it and put it in the player. Unfortunately I was disappointed. This album is simply not my forte. I know many other people who have loved it and are raving about it. I am simply not one of them.

I highly recommend checking the links out and seeing for yourself if this album strikes your fancy. Hillsong is a fantastic contributor to the Christian music industry and I look forward to their next project. I know their heart is to lead people in worship and their lyrics do just that by pointing us back to God. That in and of itself is precious.

About Hillsong United:

UNITED is committed to writing songs that speak truth, create a unique sound, connect with churches, individuals and ultimately connect people everywhere with God. UNITED serve in church as a part of the wider Hillsong Worship and Creative team when they are home. When on tour, they are accompanied by the whole Hillsong team’s support and prayers that their ministry would arrest hearts and point people to Jesus, impacting individuals, local youth groups and local churches.

Plumb Exhale Review

I heard Plumb on an interview last October and fell in love witth her honesty and her voice. I was touched by her testimony on that radio interview and it has stuck with me ever since. I know you will be blessed by this album as much as I have.

Plumb has a voice that catches hold of you and her lyrics keep hold of you. I have been touched by each and every song on the album-which doesn't happen very often. This will be an album we listen to for a long time to come. I think my favorite is Lord, I'm Ready Now; but so many of them are great!

About PLUMB:

Tiffany Arbuckle Lee, better-known by her stage name Plumb, is a songwriter, recording artist, performer and author. Plumb has sold more than 500,000 albums and over two million singles worldwide, co-penned songs for numerous other artists, including Michelle Branch, Mandisa, Mandy Moore, Jaci Velasquez, and Natalie Grant, and had music placed in many films and television shows.Originally signed as a Christian Contemporary Music (CCM) recording artist in 1997, Plumb is now known as well as or better in alternative rock, electronic dance music, and for the use of her music in film and television than she is in the CCM market.

About the album:
EXHALE, the seventh studio album from acclaimed multi-genre singer, songwriter and author PLUMB, expresses a new focus and vision. After the runaway success of NEED YOU NOW (the album, title track and book), which coincided with her own moving story of brokenness and ultimately healing, Exhale brims with worshipful songs of gratitude and hope.

The defining concept of EXHALE was born from a sermon at Plumb’s home church, wherein her pastor Pete Wilson expressed the notion that the Church doesn’t exist for itself. Rather, believers come to church to breathe in grace and truth, be changed, and then go out and “exhale” that hope into their surrounding community.

“That idea of exhaling hope hit me right away and I couldn’t get to the Notes section on my phone fast enough. I started writing the chorus of Exhale right then and there,” explains Plumb. “I have been made new by the ultimate hope, and I want to share and exhale that hope in everyway I can.”

Love Inspired Review and Give Away!

I have more books to tell you about!

Love Inspired books offer wholesome, faith-based entertainment for women that nourishes the soul as it affirms the values of devotion, hope, and love. Books are available online and in-store.

Love Inspired readers believe hearts can heal. Love Inspired stories show that faith, forgivenenss, and hope have the power to lift spirits and change lives--always.

I wasn't too impressed with the titles of the books, they seem kind of silly. But, the books themselves are great. They are easy reads that draw you in and keep you reading. I can easily get bored through the first chapter of a book; that didn't happen with these books. I was immediately interested in the characters. I like that they are a series; each one is complete by itself. I get very consumed with finishing a series of books and have a hard time moving on if the sequel isn't available right away! A story that is completed on the last page is just about perfect!

One of the bonuses with these books is that you don't have to worry about inappropriate material. I love being able to let my girls read books and not worry they will be exposed to more than they should. I have several daughters that are begging me to start reading these! I can hand them over with no worries at all.

Let it be Jesus by Christy Nockels Review

Need a great new album to add to your worship collection? Christy Nockels just might be the one. Her new album is one I would have it on in the background for most of my day. I did not get tired of any song; which is saying something for me. I tend to get tired of songs pretty quickly and then not want to hear them again but that didn't happen this time. Even my music guy husband was impressed with the album! Christy's voice is appealing and attainable.

I am sure we will be hearing these songs in church soon! You need to go listen to this album and then buy it, you won't be sorry.

About Christy:

As a worship leader for many years, she has been an integral part of Passion Conferences from its inception in 1997. She's seen first hand music sweep people into the presence of God in a powerful way. A pastor’s kid, who was born in Fort Worth and raised in Oklahoma, she grew up singing in church. She met her husband, Nathan, in 1993 at the Christian Artists Seminar in Estes Park, Co. They recorded an independent record with fellow worship leader Charlie Hall under the name Sons & Daughters that led to an invitation from Louie Giglio to participate in the first Passion conference in Austin. Christy’s voice gained a national platform when she and Nathan formed the duo Watermark, recording four acclaimed albums before that musical season ended, paving the way for Christy’s solo career. In 2008, the couple moved to Atlanta to become part of Passion City Church where she serves on the worship team with sixstepsrecords labelmates Chris Tomlin and Kristian Stanfill. The following year, Nockels released her acclaimed solo debut, Life Light Up and spent much of the next two years touring with Tomlin and Passion.

Mi vida Spanish for You! Review

If you know me, you know that I love, love, love Spanish for You! It is the one and only Spanish curriculum that we have actually used and learned from.

Spanish for You! works.

Now, add to that that I have actually met Debbie Annett in real life last year and you have a fan girl right here! Debbie is the sweetest person and it made me love her curriculum even more.

But on to the review.

I have long loved Spanish for You! and Mi vida is no different. It is affordable, easy to use, and effective. (I typed that up and then realized that that phrase is ON the books! lol) But it is true.

Debbie has written Spanish for You! in a way that is easy for a non-Spanish speaking person(parent) to teach and learn alongside their student so that both are learning a foreign language. Or the student can take the reigns and learn all on their own! The Lesson Plans are laid out for you day by day -each day tellin gyou what needs to be done. Each week gives you the New Vocabulary for the week, New Common Words and Phrases, and any Homework for the week.

On a side note: for those that know me they can attest to the extent of my Spanish speaking abilities. I can order tacos, burritos, and chimichangas. But, I get really excited when I can order Barbacoa and put in an accent! That is my sum total of Spanish speaking abilities. So for me to say that Spanish for You! is easy for a non-Spanish speaking parent to use means it is really true.

There is NO guess work! The Levels for Spanish for You! re Grades 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

I love that about Spanish for You! It has taken the guess work out of my day by giving me exactly what I need. Guidance. I can open up the Lesson Guide on Sunday afternoon and highlight what my kids need to do for the week and NOT have to figure it out. It is all right there for me! Plus, it is a digitial download so I can print off the Lesson Guide for each child so they can do their own planning. Bonus!

We also love the Audio portion of Spanish for You! We can always go back to the Audio if we are unsure of how to pronounce something and there is plenty of practice to get it right. There are two options for the Audio-Debbie speaking spanish or a Native Spanish speaker. The Audio (mp3) recordings are invaluable. The other thing about the audio that I adore is that Debbie reads the page in Spanish. (not the entire page, just the Spanish portions) This has proven to be a huge asset because we can see the words in context and that makes them more applicable. To see the words and the pictures at the same time ingraine them more than just hearing them.

Now, the artwork is not very good you say? I think it is fantastic! They are simply drawn and yet still get the meaning across. Because the pictures are simple and black and white, the cost of the curriculum can be kept low. Don't we all want that? I know I do! When you print out the Flash Cards your kids can color them and get even more practice!

There is just so much good to say about this curriculum. The best thing to say is that my kids are learning Spanish and actually using it! They are understanding it and adding to their knowledge on their own because they are ENJOYING it.

If you want to check it out, head over to Spanish for You! and look at their MORE... page for FAQ's. All Themed Home use packages are $39.95-64.95. There is a 60 day money back GUARANTEE! You can't beat that.

The Themes are: Mi vida, Viajes, Fiestas, Estaciones but there are also FREE Mini Lessons, Worksheets, and Specials offered on the website.

**Disclaimer: I was given a Mi vida set in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own and a positive review is not guaranteed.

When Calls the Heart Review and GIVEAWAY

We have loved watching these movies/series. When Calls the Heart is a family movie with incredible acting, beautiful sets and costumes, and a wholesome message. I love sitting down with my girls to watch this series. It is refreshing to know that I don't have to worry about the content or be embarrassed at unforseen situations!

I am not going to tell you much more about this video because I don't want to spoil it. But you have to see it! It is worth your time.

I do have an ENTIRE set of When Calls the Heart Season 1 to give away! Look down there for how to enter!

About the series:

The series is inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West. "When Calls the Heart" tells the captivating story of Elizabeth Thatcher (Erin Krakow), a young teacher accustomed to her high society life, who receives her first classroom assignment in Coal Valley, a small coalmining town where life is simple, but often fraught with challenges. Lori Loughlin plays Abigail Stanton, a wife and mother whose husband, the foreman of the mine, along with a dozen other miners, has just been killed in an explosion. The newly widowed women find their faith is tested when they must go to work in the mines to keep a roof over their heads. Elizabeth charms most everyone in Coal Valley, except Constable Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing) who believes Thatcher’s wealthy father has doomed the lawman’s career by insisting he be assigned in town to protect the shipping magnate’s daughter. Living in a turn of the century coal town, Elizabeth will have to learn the ways of the frontier if she wishes to thrive in the rural west on her own.
