TOS Review The Person I Marry

I am in love with this book.  I am so going to buy it and read it over and over to my kids so that they have it memorized before they leave the house.

Wanna know what book I am talking about?

PhotobucketThis is the book.  It is an adorable, right on book that every family needs to read together and every child needs to read often.

The Person I Marry by Gary and Jan Bower from Bower Books is an amazingly poignant book that has such truths in it that it should be mandatory reading for all kids growing up.

Respect, kindness, honesty, faithfulness, thoughtfulness, patience - qualities like these make strong marriages.  Created by award-winning author & illustrator team
Gary & Jan Bower (married 32 years), this
adorable book warms the hearts of all ages in its celebration of commitment, purity & true love!

On each page of this book you will find qualities that need to be sought out in the person you are seeking to marry as well as in yourself.   "Things I'll Think About Long Before Saying "I Do" "  That is exactly what this book talks about.  Don't let the pictures make you think that this book is only for the younger crowd; it's not.   The pictures are Adorable and the way it's written makes it easy to read without being baby-ish.  I wish I could have had this to start reading to my girls from the very beginning.  It's that good.

I love the way it presents what I have always thought and what I want my daughters to know.  Getting married isn't about the wedding day.  Getting married is about the marriage and the couple and the preparations they have made to live life together; not about the dress, the flowers, etc.  Those things are nice but how have you picked the person you are marrying and what were the standards you used to measure them against?  The Person I Marry is a sweet and touching look at the characteristics that are important in a solid Christ centered marriage.

You really just have to see this book for yourself.  It is a hardback book that sells for $11.99 and is so worth it.  It is beautifully done and a book that will last for years to come.
