TOS Review Scruble Cube

This year on The Crew we have been blessed to be able to review multiple games for the family.  Our family loves to play games so we are especially excited to be picked for these reviews!

This time we were playing, I mean reviewing, Scruble Cube.  If you like a challenge like the games Scrabble and Rubik's Cube then you will love Scruble Cube!  This little cube is just waiting to be explored by your family.

Here is a bit about it from the website:

What if you took some of the known playing patterns of some of the most popular word games and puzzles in history and combined them in a brand new, unique format to create the World’s Greatest 3-D Word Game?Well, you’d have the “SCRUBLE Cube™ a patent pending game with over 7.4 x 1045(that’s 7,401 septillion)possible configurations that anyone who can spell can play. And all in a portable format that can be played anywhere- anytimeThe SCRUBLE Cube™ is a word game and a puzzle- on steroids!

This is the Scruble Cube!  Doesn't it look awesome?  When they say that this it is a word game and a puzzle on steroids, they aren't kidding!  This is a crazy game that will occupy you for hours at a time.

Not only is this game a great tool for motor skills, spelling, math(for adding up the points), it is great for problem solving as well.  When your child sees the letter(s) they want, they have to figure out how to get them into the position they need.  It requires patience and fore-thought as well as perseverance.

For us, this wasn't a game that we just picked up and figured out immediately.  We don't play too much Scrabble and I'm not sure my kids have ever touched a Rubik's Cube so the concepts were a little foreign to them.  I recommend just messing around with it before trying to get serious about playing!  The instructions that come with it are helpful and I recommend reading them.  You can also go to the website homepage for more information and to watch a video about it on the homepage.

Want to add more to Scruble Cube to use it in school?  They have lesson plans to help with that!  Head over to this page to find FREE downloads for Lesson Plans.  The Scruble Cube sells for $24.95 and comes with a score pad, timer, and instructions.  This game is appropriate for all ages-if you can spell, you can play! (8 and up is recommended)

I do have to admit that I wasn't really able to figure this out!  In all fairness I must also admit that I had a Rubik's Cube when I was young and it lasted all of 10 minutes before I took off all the stickers and moved them around to make it look like I solved it.  Sad but true.  I didn't think it was appropriate to take the stickers off of this game though so I left it just like I found it and kept trying.  I will be trying for a long time to come because I can see how this would be an addicting game to play.

If you like a challenge then this game is for you!  You will not be disappointed with the Scruble Cube.

Head on over to the Crew Blog to see what other Crew Members thought of The Scruble Cube.
