3-4 times a day, every day!

This is a picture of the medicine I take everyday! While I was taking my first dose of the day, it struck me to take a picture of it! :)

Speaking of medicine, it time for another dose!

Another Challenge

Well, I didn't think that I had enough to do, so I joined another challenge! It is a challenge that is going to help me declutter and decorate my entire house, one room at a time. We pick a different room each month and focus on it. The trick is, you can't spend more than $30-$40 for each room! I have picked the first room and it is...The spare/guest room. I picked it because I think that it will be the easiest!

Here are the before pics...

This is the 'bed'!! We are waiting to get a real mattress for it, but until then, we are putting an air mattress on it! There are also extra boxes and toys in hear that need a home.

These are some of the extra things that are just sitting in this room waiting for someone to figure out where they go! :)

This is the closet! It is full of all of the pictures, shelves, and other things that should be put up in the rest of the house! I guess they will have to go somewhere.

I am really excited to do this and get my house decorated and warm feeling for the family and our guests.

Sun and Moon

I missed the sunrise this morning. Instead I found this out my back window. The sun was creating such wonderful dimensions in our yard, that I just had to capture it. I am not a real photographer and so I am sure that it could be done better. But here is my humble picture.

And this was out my front door. I don't think that this picture does it justice. It was beautiful.

This little sliver of the moon was still hanging around at about 8:30 this morning and dd4 is just sure that the moon is 'stuck'!

An Answer

Well, as you know I have been struggling and praying for some time about my thorn in the flesh and how to deal with it/what to do with it. This morning in my devotions, I was given an answer!

I have been using the book The Busy Mom's Guide to Bible Study by Lisa Whelchel in the mornings. I don't usually use someone else's devotion/study guides like this; however, in this book she explains different methods for studying and understanding the Word that are very straightforward and useful. I have been finding it extremely informative and quick to use. Which, with 4 kiddos, is an absolute must.

Anyway, this morning the lesson is about meditating on a scripture to really understand it. Praying it, memorizing it, writing it on paper and carrying it with you. The verse she offered to meditate on (I usually pick a different one to get the full benefits of learning the method) was from Psalm 1 and it was directed right at me.

Here it is:
"His delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
He is like a tree planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers."

Psalm 1:2-3

He finds joy in God's law, in the Word. He memorizes it and thinks about it at every moment. This gives him a ready source of life and encouragement when things are tough. It keeps him grounded in good soil that will nourish a harvest at the right time. It is a source that will not run out. He learns something and grows from every situation that comes along.

That is exactly what I needed to hear. I have found my answer on how to deal with my thorn and I will start right now. Praise the Lord for His Word and His constant care for us.

Okay, I am experimenting with having this really fancy signature at the end of my posts. However, I am not sure why it is underlining everything! I am pretty clueless about all of this! I guess the lines lend importance to what I am saying, even if it is not important!

Wow, I did it. The only thing is I don't want to have to do it this way every time! I am not sure what I will do.

I should have known!

O.K. I had these wonderful pictures of our family playing board games and card games from this morning. There were some general ones and then there were some priceless ones of dd4 using the game pieces from 'Trouble' as tips on her fingers! It was so cute! Then there were the pics of the two youngest ones playing 'Operation' while trying to cover their ears.

But, I guess that you will just have to believe me that they were cute, wonderful, and precious. Because when dh and I went to transfer them to the computer, they vanished into the abyss. I am trying not to be to down-hearted about it, I still have the memories! Right? Of course, right!

Excuse me whilst I cry for a moment....All right, I am done now.

I should have known that this is how it would go when I signed up to post a picture a day! Oh Well.

Now for the pics that I am going to post today.

This is dd4. She was given a locket full of this wonderful bluish/purple lipgloss. She loved it and wore the necklace constantly. Unfortunately she hasn't learned the fine art of applying just a touch of lipgloss. This has turned her lips and surrounding area a light shade of blue. But, it has Cinderella on the cover so that makes everything okay!

This is the 'blizzard' we just had about a week ago. It was wonderful! We had so much fun watching it fall and measuring the drifts. Our front porch eventually had a 2ft. snow drift on it and we couldn't even see the step leading up to it. It was a winter wonderland.

Well, hopefully tomorrow my computer won't eat my pictures. We can always hope can't we?
